Playbox is a venture by the 4th generation members of the BMJ group, an Indian business house with over 100 brands representing various sectors. The company aims to provide children with tools to imagine, explore ideas, and invent new things, allowing them to become future leaders like Bhaskaracharya, Kautilya, Einstein, or Narayanmurti.
Playbox does not design the play itself but rather for the circumstances it arises. They do not provide printed rule books, guides, or pictures with their toys, ensuring they are not limited in any way. They downplay play as a frivolous joyful thing, but instead emphasize that it’s their world and should be enjoyed as such.
When designing toys, they want children to create from their imagination rather than following instructions. Most children have been used to following a set of instructions for games, seeking approval after each point to ensure correctness. However, Playbox believes that children should also have the opportunity to invent and innovate according to their imagination. They give kids the tools to build confidence and understand how to be creative, empathetic, and good people.
Playbox is natural and eco-friendly, using sustainably sourced materials like solid wood or plywood. Wooden toys are biodegradable, renewable, and do not contribute to plastic waste. They are durable and safe, made from high-quality wood and non-toxic materials, ensuring a safe environment for children.
Open-ended play is encouraged in wooden handmade toys, such as wooden blocks, puzzles, and construction sets, which allow children to use their imagination and creativity to create their own stories, scenarios, and play patterns. By playing together, we can live together and contribute to a better future for all.
